Cinderella Maiden Gown from Cinderella 2015

Hey guys!
I am so sorry that it has been too long that I have not posted, but it is Halloween weekend and that is my favorite holiday! I have been so busy and will try as hard as I can to keep up with this blog. I have been planning to do this dress since the first trailer came out! I say this gown and the famous blue ballgown and was awestruck with love for these costumes. I decided against doing the ballgown since it would be very time-consuming and would be very expensive. I decided on the beautiful maid gown. I loved the color and bodice. So on actual Halloween I became the very dirty Cinderella that layed by the fireplace. So how I constructed the bodice was making a trapezoid shape to put the ruffles on. I put in some boning and scrunched a TON of mesh onto the framing to make a beautiful ruffled look. So how I finished the top was creating more bodice pieces and sewing together lol.
The skirt parts was super easy, it was just a simple rectangular cut with pleats along the waist to add shape and fit. I sewed the two together and then made the sleeves. The sleeves were half-length with flouncy lace(?) added to the top of the bust area and the bottom of the sleeves. Finally I added the zipper and was finished!
So here is all of the photos I have, since I realized all of the main pictures I took on my old phone which literally died. So I apologize for that, but I do have the pictures for the apron and skirt, but not the bodice :(.  Next the apron part...It was so simple and so adorable! I got this clay colored fabric from a family friend of mine for free (yayyy!) and cut out a rectangle. I pleated the top and made a waistband. I finally finished it off with a hem and voila it was finished!
Lastly, I made a simple white gauze chemise underneath the dress and corset. It is shown with the white bow on the bodice. Now here are the pictures from the day of Halloween. I wore a corset underneath since as probably some of you maybe know, she has a super tiny waist in the movie.

Snow White Hunter Costume From Once Upon A Time

Hey guys,
It has been a really long time since I have posed and I am really sorry. I have been busy because of volleyball season and school. But finally, I have something to post! This is the Snow White costume from the Once Upon A Time show which is coming back tonight for Season 5! I can't wait! I used the McCall's Costumes M6819 for this costume.

So first off, I ordered a lot for this costume: I got a silver leather thick belt off of Ebay, a wooden dagger off of Ebay, and brown riding leggings/pants from Amazon. Also, I used a bow and arrow set I had and a tank from my closet as well. I just made the coat from this pattern instead of the tank and pattern since I already owned one too similar.

The top fabric I got from fabric.com and the contrast fabric was just a plain white cotton. I think it turned out pretty well and enjoyed making something from the Once Upon A Time series. So here is the turn out:
I hope you guys enjoyed! Please comment if you liked and share! Until next time...

Tribal Print Summer Strapless Romper

Hi guys,
I know it has been like 2 months since my last post, but I have been working all summer. I finally got a chance to make something with the boatload of new jersey knit fabric I got. Just wait for the posts to be flowing in! :) So anyways I made one of the first things which was a romper. I was super excited about this, because it is tribal print and so soft. I am tall so many rompers are too short for me, so I decided to make my own. It was a really easy to make compared to others pieces I have made, a one-day project I'd say. It was a tube top with flowy shorts encased with elastic. The picture below of the pieces I used I ended up being changed to just boxy shorts rather than the angled ones showed. I added black vintage lace to the bottom to finish the look making a really easy summer beach look.

Vintage Birthday Dress

Hey guys!
I know I haven't posted in a while and I have to catch up on that. Today is my 16th birthday though!!!! I had my Sweet 16 Party last weekend, and it was vintage-themed or 1950's themed! I have been cooking up my dress for a while and finally finished it a few days before the party.
For the skirt, I had two pieces, a 3/4 circle skirt that went underneath the dress with pleats and snaps to make it more fitting and have even more pleats! The skirt portion of the dress was a 1/2 circle and had a split on the back with a bow on top. I added many pleats that suited it just right.
For the bodice, I designed a top with a shirred back, zipper, and flaps on the front bodice. The corset-like seams helps to bring the vintage spirit to the dress. :) Overall the dress fit great, looked perfect, and was the showstopper of the party ;)
The party went well! Everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun! Here is pictures of the final product and the party too :)
I hope you enjoyed this one! I certainly loved it :) Thanks for reading!
