Valentine's Day Inspired Peplum Top

Hey guys!
Happy Valentine! I made this beautiful peplum top last night as a last minute Spirit for school. Of course, we had to wear red or hearts for today because it is spirit for my school. My mom offered me her shirt because I don't own anything red, but of course, I have to do it myself. I used a peplum tank that I own and found a pair of hand-me-down bright red yoga pants with a beautiful embroidered band. I had to use it, plus when would I wear red yoga pants?
So I cut along all the seams and had my stretchy red fabric. I used my tailor's chalk and made a rough draft of what it would look like. I decided to put the embroidered part as the side front of the top. I drafted it a bit smaller since it was very stretchy fabric.
For the peplum part, I did not have enough fabric to trace the one on the original top. So I improvised and made it smaller and added triangles to it to make it more flowy and look like a peplum top.
So this is how it ended up looking like today when I wore it for my school spirit. I added buttons to the top of the triangle seams to hide the seams underneath and make it more cute looking. Thanks for reading, share with your friends and comment. :)
